Days numbered for irresponsible leaders, says Nchimbi
KAGERA: THE ruling CCM party’s Secretary General, Ambassador Emmanuel Nchimbi has sounded a strong warning to all irresponsible leaders, saying their days in office are numbered.
He demanded the government executive to deliver in accordance with the party’s election manifesto of 2020-2025 and ensure that they provide top notch services to ‘wananchi.’
He said the leaders should shun from selfishness and instead put the interest of citizens and the country ahead. Dr Nchimbi remarked on Tuesday while extending condolence to the family and relative of the departed ex cabinent minister, Ambassador Dr Deodorus Kamala during burial service which was held at his Rwamashonga Home Village in Misenyi District, Kagera Region.
He said all leaders who are serving in various offices through the CCM’s ticket are bound to accountability and patriotism.
Dr Nchimbi further presented President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan’s condolence to the members of the family, relatives and citizens.
He revisited the lifetime of Amb Kamala, describing him as a great leader who always strived to find answers to peoples’ problems. He said the late outstanding leader was uprooted from the University of Mzumbe where he served as the president of the varsity students’ guild.
On top of that, Dr Nchimbi reminded mourners that the late Amb Kamala was always firm against corruption. “He was not corrupt.
I can testify this, because even when he lost his MP’s seat he didn’t complain nor use money in an attempt to overturn the results.
People of this kind should be embraced by emulating their good deeds,” he said. He called upon all leaders, including youths to imitate Amb Kamala’s visionary leadership by being responsible to citizens and the country. Dr Nchimbi said CCM will protect and stand with accountable leaders.
“We urge all leaders who are not delivering to citizens to pull up their socks. We need to utilise all our potential for citizens’ prosperity,” he said.
He said Amb Kamala had unshakable determination in defending the country’s interest, standing firm at international arena when any agenda concerning Tanzania was tabled.
