Davids commends Simba for resilience

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA Head Coach Fadlu Davids (pictured) has commended his charges for their resilience in a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Mashujaa at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma on Thursday.

Davids made the comments during the post-match interview. He noted: “First of all, I congratulate the players for their fight and their effort.”

Despite hailing his charges win, he voiced his disappointment over the time-wasting tactics employed by the opposing goalkeeper that he felt disrupted Simba’s momentum.

“You can try to waste time, but in the end if you are not attacking and always defending, you are likely to concede,” he remarked. Despite the challenge, Davids acknowledged his charges’ mental strength and focus to punish Mashujaa, noting: “We maintained our structure throughout the match and I am extremely proud of how the boys remained focused and determined.”

The coach not only acknowledged the victory, but also celebrated the qualities that contributed to the team’s success. His insights reflect a commitment to fostering resilience and teamwork, as Simba continue their campaign.

His counterpart, Coach Mohamed Abdallah also gave credit to his charges, highlighting that his players gave everything on the pitch, showing exceptional character and fighting spirit.

“Simba have a strong team with talented players who can change the game at any moment, making them one of the most difficult teams to compete against.

Their experience and skill allow them to capitalise on opportunities and dictate the flow of the game. “My players gave everything on the pitch, showing exceptional character and effort.

Even though we didn’t come out with a win, I am incredibly proud of the intensity and commitment they showed on the match,” Coach Abdallah noted. As it stands, Simba are currently on second place on the league table with 22 points, while Mashujaa are in seventh place with 13 points.

Simba will face Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) on November 5 at the KMC Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam, aiming to extend their winning streak and close the gap on the league leaders.

Mashujaa, currently on seventh place with 13 points, will look to bounce back as they host Tabora United on November 4.
