Dar Derby set for October 19, TPLB reveals

DAR ES SALAAM: THE highly anticipated second Dar Derby of the NBC Premier League will take place on October 19, with Simba set to host Yanga in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has announced the full fixtures for the 2024/2025 season.

The campaign kicks off on August 16th with newly promoted Pamba Jiji facing Tanzania Prisons at CCM Kirumba Stadium, setting the stage for an exciting start to the season.

In the early rounds, the defending champions, Yanga, will begin their title defence with two away matches.

They first face Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium on August 29, followed by a fixture against Ken Gold at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya on September 25.

Simba will start their season at home, taking on Tabora United at KMC Stadium on August 18, and will then play Fountain Gate at the same venue on August 25.

Azam FC’s season opener will see them play JKT Tanzania away on August 28, with their second match scheduled against KMC FC.

In the previous season, Yanga SC emerged as champions with 80 points, while Azam FC finished second with 69 points, just ahead of Simba SC due to a superior goal difference.

With these fixtures setting the stage, fans can look forward to a competitive and action-packed season ahead.
