Daily News Digital visits Moyo Mmoja Children Home in Bagamoyo

COASTAL REGION: Daily News Digital, the online section of the Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited paid a visit to Moyo Mmoja Children home in Pwani’s Bagamoyo district over the weekend as part of its dedication towards creating a positive change in the community.

The team actively engaged with the children, fostering meaningful connections, and concluded its compassionate excursion by generously donating a variety of gifts to the facility.

The team’s generous donations included essential items such as rice, maize flour, soap, cooking oil and robing oil, and milk.

“This endeavor is not only a testament to our commitment to uncovering positive news for the public but also a sincere effort to engage with the local community… Choosing to visit this center allows us to connect with you, share in the joy of the moment, and contribute whatever we can to assist in various aspects at your facility,” Acting Manager of Digital Media Services at TSN, Sylvester Domasa said shortly after handing the donation to the center.

Assistant Manager of the Moyo Mmoja Orphanage Centre, Godwin Kalambile thanked the Daily News Digital team for their thoughtful act of visiting them and said since the orphanage lives by following the pattern of family lifestyle, the Daily News Digital has officially become one of their family members.

“To make the children feel at home and more accepted, we follow the normal family pattern. Their caretaker is called ‘mother’, I am their uncle, and others are aunties. So, as you have come here today, the children have gotten another set of uncles and aunties,” Kalambile stated.

He said the center was founded in 1998 and to-date it has a total of 24 children.

The center nurtures both infants and older kids, with many of them actively pursuing education in secondary schools and various colleges.
