Dabo commends Azam FC players

MWANZA: Dabo has commended his players following a strong away performance that rewarded them 1-0 victory over Singida Fountain Gate at CCM Kirumba Stadium on Wednesday.
At a post-match interview, Dabo praised his players saying they executed well the initial plan they had before the game.
“Whenever you win you feel good and especially after two matches in which we did not get the results we wanted, the victory is massive to return to our main target,’’ he said.
Dabo said the team expected a difficult game with Singida Fountain Gate but his players managed to contain their opponents accordingly.
“We didn’t have a good period, so we continued to work hard and build up confidence. We have finished three away matches and now we are going back home. We are looking forward to face Dodoma Jiji,” he noted.
On his side, Singida Fountain Gate Head Coach Thabo Senong said the second round is getting harder but his team is getting stronger too despite losing the match.
“I think we played very well even though the results are not in our favour. Our focus now is on the next game,’’ he insisted.
The Wednesday victory elevated Azam FC to the second slot on the table with 40 points from 18 games.
The Ice cream makers side are now three points from leaders Young Africans but the latter have two games in hand to play.
Simba is third courtesy of 36 points after 15 matches.
