Cricketer Rajeevan joins elite T20I club

DAR ES SALAAM: NATIONAL cricketer Amal Rajeevan has etched his name into the history books after surpassing 1,000 career runs in Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket, becoming only the third player from the country to reach this milestone.

According to the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) Chairman Balakrishnan Sreekumar, Rajeevan joins an elite group alongside national stalwarts Abhik Patwa and Ivan Selemani, marking a significant personal and national achievement in Tanzanian cricket.

Known for his consistency and composure at the crease, Rajeevan has been a linchpin in Tanzania’s batting order for years.

His latest accomplishment underscores not only his individual excellence but also the growing competitiveness of Tanzanian cricket on the international stage.

“This is a proud moment for Tanzanian cricket,” said the Tanzania Cricket Association Chairman.

“Rajeevan has been a key pillar in our team’s success. These 1,000 runs reflect his dedication and are a great honour for Tanzania.”

Rajeevan’s milestone comes at a crucial time, as Tanzania gears up for a series of international fixtures, including qualifiers for the ICC T20 World Cup.

His form will be vital as the national side looks to build momentum and stake its claim on the global stage.

As cricket continues to gain popularity and structure in Tanzania, milestones like Rajeevan’s are seen as symbolic of the sport’s progress and potential in the region.
