Construction companies urged to use efficient machines for improved standards

DAR ES SALAAM: CONSTRUCTION and mining companies in Tanzania have been encouraged to use appropriate excavators to meet industry standards and enhance efficiency, contributing to the country’s economic growth.

The advice was given by Hafeezali Gangji, Co-Director of Nazneen Material Handling Company, the official agent of Kobelco construction machines in Tanzania.

Mr Gangji emphasised the importance of using machines suited to Tanzania’s environmental conditions and highlighted that many local companies use excavators that are not fuel-efficient.

He noted that Kobelco machines, manufactured in Japan, use less than 13 litres of fuel per hour and are highly durable.

He called on miners, contractors and investors in the mining industry to adopt these efficient excavators for long-lasting performance and cost savings.

He gave the advice during the International Construction Exhibition Week 2024 in Dar es Salaam. The exhibition was officially opened by Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Mr Exaud Kigahe.

He said the Kobelco machines, produced in Japan, use less than 13 litres per hour during work and they are compatible with Tanzania’s environment.

“We call on miners, investors in the mining industry and contractors to use these excavators because they last for a long time and use less fuel,” said Mr Gangji when introduced such excavators at the exhibition.

For his part, Company’s Chief Executive Officer Nentaro Kezaki assured that spare parts for such machines were easily available.

Financial Controller of Acer Petroleum Ltd, Mr Abhishek Rathod, said they will use the machine in their construction project in Kigamboni District.
