Club fined, five points deducted for ‘no-show’
DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzania Women’s Football Committee has deducted five points from JKT Queens and fined them 3m/- for failure to attend a Premier League match against Simba Queens.
The two teams were set to play their league game at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam on January 8th but only Simba Queens turned up.
A statement from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) on Sunday indicates that a pre-match meeting held one day before the game and on the match-day, the chairman of the committee reminded us about the time and venue of the game.
“After going through the match report, the committee has deducted five points from JKT Queens and fined them 3m/-in accordance with Article 32.1-3 of the Tanzania Women’s Premier League (TWPL), 2023 edition,” it says.
It further says the committee has given Simba Queens three points and three goals in response to Article 18:45 of the TWPL 2023 edition.
Again, the statement says the committee has suspended JKT Queens General Secretary Duncan Maliyabwana from any football related issues for 12 months.
