Civic polls campaign flags off countrywide

DAR ES SALAAM: POLITICAL parties in the country have launched campaigns ahead of the local government elections slated for November 27 this year, providing candidates an opportunity to present their policies to the public.
Campaigns kicked off on Wednesday in regions including Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Kigoma, Mbeya and Mwanza. Ruling party CCM Secretary General, Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, launched the party’s campaign at Furahisha Grounds in Mwanza with a call for integrity and commitment from all party candidates.
Dr Nchimbi urged candidates to avoid corruption and injustice, emphasizing the importance of serving citizens with dedication and sincerity.
Highlighting CCM’s 47-year legacy, he noted the party’s proven capability to govern and deliver development, pointing to progress and national unity as evidence. “CCM has been fulfilling its responsibilities and is currently in the second phase of iberation.
This is why Tanzanians continue to trust CCM,” he said.
He further called on candidates to protect the party’s reputation and uphold the trust and respect it commands among citizens.
