Chalamila lures local traders to invest in EACLC

DAR ES SALAAM: The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila, has called on local traders to take advantage of the investment opportunities offered by the East African Commercial and Logistics Center (EACLC), located in Ubungo, Dar es Salaam. He stated that the goal of this investment is to stimulate the country’s economic development through international trade.

Speaking today at a press conference in Dar es Salaam, Chalamila announced that the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, is expected to officially inaugurate the market on August 1st of this year.

He explained that the market is the result of a strategic partnership between the Government of Tanzania and investors from China, and it forms part of the government’s broader efforts to attract international investment and boost the trade and industrial sectors.

Clarifying further, Chalamila reassured traders and the general public that the new market will not negatively impact business activities at the Kariakoo market. He encouraged businesspeople to embrace this new opportunity, which will enhance competition and expand market access.

According to the released information, the market comprises over 2,000 shops and construction sites.
