Celebrating 76 Glorious Years Striving Forward on A New Journey

CHINA: The Chinese government and people have held grand celebrations of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, which falls on October 1st.
For China, The past 76 years have been a journey of overcoming challenges and fulfilling great accomplishments.
The Communist Party of China has united and led all ethnic groups in China to make all-round achievements in modernization, creating one great miracle after another in the history of human development.
The Chinese nation has achieved tremendous transformation from standing up to growing prosperous and to becoming strong.
Today, China is the world’s second largest economy, top trader in goods, biggest holder of foreign exchange reserves.
It has established the world’s largest social security system, with the biggest middle-income population which is more than 400 million. Last year, China’s GDP exceeded US$18 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 5.0 percent.
In the first half of this year, facing the complex international landscape and mounting challenges of de-globalization, China’s GDP grew by 5.3 percent with major economic indicators steadily picking up.
As the world’s largest manufacturing country, China has ranked first globally in total auto production and sales for 16 consecutive years, and possesses the largest number of 5G base stations and biggest clean power generation system worldwide, with remarkable progress in green and low-carbon transition.
Not long time ago, President Xi Jinping announced China’s new nationally determined contributions. By 2035, China will reduce economy-wide net greenhouse gas emissions by 7 percent to 10 percent from peak levels.
China has made new breakthroughs in lots of areas such as artificial intelligence, manned spaceflight, deep-sea and deep-earth probes, supercomputers, quantum information, new energy, and biotechnology, with new quality productive forces enabling high-quality development.
China’s steady economic growth has provided important support and significant boost to the recovery of world economy.
In recent years, China has been the largest driving force for global economic growth with its contribution to it at around 30 percent annually. China remains steadfast in upholding international trade order.
As the world’s second-largest consumer market and importer, China boasts nearly RMB50 trillion yuan of consumption, over RMB50 trillion yuan of investment, and over RMB20 trillion yuan of imports, not to mention huge growth potential on multiple fronts.
From the China International Import Expo to the China International Fair for Trade in Services and the Silk Road E-commerce Partnership, China continues to inject more stability and greater impetus into the turbulent global economy by advancing higher-standard opening up and better business environment.
As the world’s largest developing country, China has always placed its own development within the coordinates of human development and worked together with other Global South countries.
Since the reform and opening up, China has lifted more than 850 million people out of poverty, contributing more than 70 percent to global total in this regard.
Over 150 countries and over 30 international organizations have signed cooperation documents with China under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), covering such key areas as infrastructure, energy and digital economy.
The World Bank has estimated that by 2030, BRI-related investments could lift 7.6 million people out of extreme poverty and 32 million out of moderate poverty.
China has become the most stable, reliable, and dynamic force for global development, bringing strong impetus to the prosperity of the Global South.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of the restoration of Taiwan to its motherland China and the founding of the United Nations.
80 years ago, with enormous sacrifice of over 35 million Chinese military and civilian casualties, the Chinese people held ground in the main theater in the East of the World Anti-Fascist War, thus making indelible contribution to world peace and human progress. We remember history, and cherish peace even more.
As a stable, positive and progressive force in the international community, China will continue to pursue the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity, resolutely uphold the postwar international order, stay resolved to safeguard global peace and tranquility, and firmly defend international fairness and justice.
The current international landscape is undergoing changes and turbulence. The U.N. and multilateralism are being challenged with rising deficit in global governance.
Against this backdrop, President Xi Jinping solemnly proposed the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), highlighting the core concepts of the GGI, namely, adhere to sovereign equality, abide by international rule of law, practice multilateralism, advocate the people-centered approach, and focus on taking real actions.
These five concepts elucidate the principles, methods, and pathways that need to be followed to reform and improve global governance, further contributing China’s wisdom and presenting China’s solution to build a more just and equitable global governance system.
The GGI, following the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI), is another important global public good that China has contributed to the world.
Together, they inject strong impetus and open up bright prospects for building a community with a shared future for humanity.
Both history and reality show that China has always been a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order.
Last year, the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was held in Beijing.
China-Africa relations have grown rapidly in recent years. China has been Africa’s largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years, with China-Africa trade reaching a record high of almost 300 billion USD in 2024.
China announced the implementation of zero-tariff treatment on 100 percent of taxable products from 53 African countries that have diplomatic ties with China, providing more convenience for African exports to China.
Since September 2024, the China-Africa Development Fund and the China-Africa Capacity Cooperation Fund have newly invested about RMB 3.2 billion yuan and RMB2.9 billion yuan in Africa respectively, facilitating Africa’s modernization process.
The flourishing China-Africa cooperation has become a model of solidarity and cooperation among the Global South.
In this broad background of China-Africa cooperation, China–Tanzania cooperation stands out as a shining chapter.
The traditional friendship between China and Tanzania, forged by the founding fathers of our two nations, is of great historical significance and has been enriched with new features.
Over the 61 years of bilateral diplomatic ties, our two countries have maintained a solid and long-term relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
In the new era, under the strategic guidance of two heads of state, China–Tanzania relations have consistently remained at a high level of development, with stronger support on each other’s core interests and major concerns, and enhanced comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
China has been Tanzania’s largest trading partner for 9 consecutive years, with bilateral trade reaching almost 9 billion USD in 2024.
Chinese enterprises are deeply involved in many major strategic projects such as the Central Standard Gauge Railway, enabling Tanzanian industrialization process.
They have also built a series of infrastructure projects like the Magufuli Bridge and the Arusha Stadium, improving local livelihoods.
China has worked on more imports of Tanzanian high-quality agricultural goods such as honey, avocados and wild aquatic products, providing strong support for Tanzania’s agricultural modernization.
Both countries are actively implementing the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit. The TAZARA Railway is being revitalized, while projects under the ten partnership actions for modernization have been successfully carried out in Tanzania.
The upgrade and expansion of Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute and Juncao technological projects are making progress, both of which are China’s government-aided projects.
China implemented the Minimally Invasive Medicine Program, and shared medical techniques with Tanzanian doctors and hospitals.
China cooperated with the International Fund for Agricultural Development on advancing agricultural development projects in Tanzania through the use of satellite digital technology.
Tanzania has thus become one of the countries that have seen the most effective implementation of the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit.
This year holds great significance in the history of China-Tanzania relations. It marks the 50th anniversary of the completion of the TAZARA Railway, as well as the 60th anniversary of President Julius Nyerere’s first visit to China, the 60th anniversary of the signing of “Treaty of Friendship between the People’s Republic of China and the United Republic of Tanzania”, and the 60th anniversary of the visit of Premier Zhou Enlai to Tanzania.
At this new historical juncture, China is ready to work with Tanzania to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen cooperation across the board, cement all-weather friendship, advance modernization together, and contribute to building a community with a shared future for humanity
