RUKWA: THE ruling party-Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)’s Secretary General, Ambassador Emmanuel Nchimbi working tour in Nkasi District has fast tracked the release of 400m/- that was derailing the completion of a grand water project seeking to end water woes in the area.
At a mammoth rally held at Namanyere bus stand in Nkasi District located in Rukwa Region, residents complained of dilly-dallying of the project thus facing an acute shortage of water.
Via their representatives, Nkasi District residents told the CCM Secretary General that they were facing water blues that were delaying economic activities in the district, adding that President Samia Suluhu Hassan had already issued directives that 700m/- be released in order to complete the project.
However, as of on Sundaythe government through the ministry of water had only released 300m/-, as the contractor of the project was still waiting for 400m/- to be disbursed.
