CCM lays emphasis on crop export permits

SONGWE: THE ruling party CCM has directed the Ministry of Agriculture to issue export permits for agricultural products and expand the market base for agricultural produce.

The directive was given by the party’s Secretary-General, Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, during his visit to businesspeople at the international agricultural produce market located in Tunduma, Songwe Region.

Dr Nchimbi stated that Songwe Region was one of the best places in the country for agricultural goods, emphasizing that CCM always supports the region.

He mentioned that his party was also involved in the value chain to increase efficiency.

“Export permits for our products to be sent outside the country should be obtained, along with reliable markets, because the government under CCM has always been serious about agricultural production,” he said.

However, Dr. Nchimbi quickly pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture and the Tunduma District Council should closely supervise the Tunduma-based market to attract more businesspersons.

“We have a problem where our professionals do not adhere to the required standards, but it’s important to know that people will always be attracted if they are assured of their health and business,” he insisted.

Dr Nchimbi is currently on a 10-day tour of six regions: Katavi, Rukwa, Songwe, Mbeya, Njombe, and Ruvuma.

He is accompanied by CCM’s Ideology, Publicity, and Training Secretary, Amos Makalla, and the party’s Organization Secretary, Issa Gavu.
