CCM: give the state more time to investigate crimes
DAR ES SALAAM: The ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has called on citizens to grant the government sufficient time to conduct thorough investigations into various criminal incidents before making any conclusions.
Speaking to editors and senior journalists on Friday in Dar es Salaam following the death of a member of the Opposition Party (CHADEMA) Executive Committee, Mohamed Ali Kibao, CCM’s Secretary General, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, emphasized that comprehensive and credible investigations are essential to delivering justice.
“We urge Tanzanians to be patient and allow thorough investigations to prevent the wrongful accusation of innocent individuals. As a nation, we must ensure that all citizens are treated fairly and that no one accused of a crime is presumed guilty until evidence and investigations have been completed,” he said.
He also called on opposition leaders to reject divisive tactics from groups engaged in criminal acts, including kidnappings.
“We’ve heard from opposition leaders, including CHADEMA’s Chairman Freeman Mbowe, whom I respect as a wise friend, issuing an ultimatum to the government to name those responsible for these crimes by September 25, or they will take action.
How can a person give an ultimatum to the President? How can this be possible!!,” he noted Dr. Nchimbi.

He further stressed the party’s stance against incidents that threaten public peace, stating that such actions are contrary to the party’s manifesto.
“Opposition leaders must resist efforts to divide them. We at CCM have chosen unity. We are ready to work with them to build this nation and preserve the country we inherited, so we can pass it on to future generations in the same spirit,” he said.

He reiterated that CCM believes in dialogue and collaboration to foster peace and stability across the country.
“We are fortunate to have a president who is committed to building the nation through action, promoting reconciliation, and fostering unity among all Tanzanians,” added Dr. Nchimbi.
He concluded by calling on all citizens to ensure public safety, reminding them that every Tanzanian has a responsibility to protect the security of others.
