CCM fills vacant posts, Makalla replaces Makonda as party’s publicity boss

DAR ES SALAAM: Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)’s National Executive Committee (NEC) filled various posts in its secretariat by endorsing names of various officials.

The ruling party organ held an extraordinary meeting chaired by the national chairperson, who doubles as the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday.

The meeting appointed Mr. John Mongella as the CCM Deputy Secretary General (Mainland).

Mr. Mongella, a former Arusha Regional Commissioner, takes over from Mr. Anamringi Macha, who has been appointed the new Shinyanga Regional Commissioner.

A statement issued by the party’s Department of Publicity, Ideology, and Training states that Amos Makalla has been named as the new CCM Publicity, Ideology, and Training Secretary, taking over from Mr. Paul Makonda, who has been appointed as Arusha Regional Secretary.

The statement adds that Ally Hapi has been appointed as CCM’s Parent Wing Secretary General, replacing Gilbert Kalima, who has been appointed as Mkinga District Commissioner.

Ms Jokate Mwegelo has been named as the new CCM Youth Wing (UV-CCM) Secretary General, replacing Fakii Lulanda, who is the new Simanjiro District Commissioner.

NEC members have congratulated President Samia Suluhu Hassan and President Hussein Mwinyi for implementing CCM’s election manifesto (2020-2025) accordingly.
