MTWARA: THE ruling party CCM Secretary General, Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi will continue to cherish the third phase President Mr Benjamini Mkapa’s values on enhancing national unity, solidarity and propelling the country’s development.
Amb Nchimbi said this on Saturday, when he visited the grave of the country’s former president at Lupaso Village in Masasi, District, Mtwara Region.
Speaking shortly after extending prayers at the graveside, Dr Nchimbi said CCM will continue to cherish Mr Mkapa’s values on enhancing national unity, solidarity and development.
He said Mkapa’s vision resulted into the significant transformation of the party and the country during his regime.
“The government under President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan will continue to cherish a great job done by the late Mkapa. We will make sure all his good deeds are preserved and vision attained,” he said.
“For all Tanzanians, the late Mkapa will remain unforgettable due to his great contribution in building the country. We can all reflect on how he accountably transformed the government,” added Amb Nchimbi.
He eulogised the late Mkapa as the focused and visionary leader, who brought significant changes within the party and the government during his presidency.
Mr Mkapa served as the third phase president of Tanzania from 1995 to 2005. He died on July 24th 2020.

Earlier, at around 9:30 am after landing at the Masasi Airport in the region, Dr Nchimbi was welcomed by hundreds of the party’s members and citizens.
Dr Nchimbi said he was pleased with the number of citizens who turned up to welcome him.
He said such a huge turnout signified the party’s members determination on keeping on building a strong CCM.
He noted that CCM can only continue to be strong if its members are united and support their leaders.
“Our unity is our victory,” he said.
Dr Nchimbi is in the Southern regions of Mtwara and Lindi for a four-day working visit, which kicked off yesterday and is expected to be concluded on Wednesday.
The party’s Secretary General was expected to hold a rally later on yesterday evening in Mtwara Town to familiarise with the citizens’ progress, identifying problems and seeking solutions.
