DAR ES SALAAM: THE Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) have underlined their close partnership, describing it as a model for Africa and the world.
This was stated during a courtesy call by CPC Central Committee Member Comrade Tang Dengjie at the CCM Headquarters Sub-office in Dar Es Salaam.
CCM’s Secretary General, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, underscored the enduring and mutually beneficial relationship between the two parties.
In the statement issued by the party’s Secretary of Ideology, Publicity and Training, Mr Amos Makalla, said the meeting, held on Friday last week marked a significant occasion during Comrade Dengjie’s official three-day visit to Tanzania.
Secretary General Ambassador Nchimbi emphasized that the longstanding friendship between Tanzania and China, underpinned by the leadership of CCM and CPC, has flourished over six decades of diplomatic relations.
He highlighted the ideological, political, economic and social principles guiding this partnership, noting its role as a model for Africa and the world.
“CCM and CPC share a fraternal friendship that has evolved into a solid foundation for fostering economic and investment opportunities, aimed at enhancing the welfare of our people,” stated Ambassador Nchimbi.

“This relationship was established by our founders, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and Chairman Mao Zedong, and has since grown into a strategic partnership.”
Ambassador Nchimbi acknowledged the pivotal role played by recent high-level engagements, including President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s visit to China in 2022, where the bilateral relationship was elevated to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
He highlighted successful collaborations in construction, health, tourism, agriculture, medicine, trade, and economy, urging continued Chinese support for investment in Tanzania’s burgeoning sectors.
In response, Comrade Tang Dengjie affirmed China’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties with Tanzania and supporting initiatives that benefit both nations’ populations.
“The 60 years of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania stand as a testament to our enduring friendship and mutual respect,” said Comrade Dengjie.
“We are dedicated to further strengthening this relationship for the benefit of our peoples in both countries.”
The two sides, also outlined the robust economic cooperation between China and Tanzania, with China being Tanzania’s top trading partner for eight consecutive years.
