DODOMA: Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has condemned the killing of the party’s District Secretary for Kilolo in Iringa Region, Ms Christina Kibiki.
The secretary was shot dead by unidentified attackers on Tuesday in Banawanu village, where she lived.
According to Iringa Regional Police Commander Allan Bukumbi, the fatal incident occurred when armed individuals stormed her house and shot Ms Christina.
After being shot, she was rushed to Tosamaganga Designated Hospital for treatment.

A statement issued by CCM’s National Executive Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, Amos Makalla, noted that Ms Christina was killed amid preparations for an orientation seminar for party secretaries scheduled for Thursday in Dodoma.
The party, in the statement, called on its members to remain calm while law enforcement agencies conduct a thorough investigation.
Kilolo District CCM Chairman John Kiteve confirmed that Ms Kibiki’s body is currently being held at Tosamaganga Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are underway, with burial planned for Friday.
“CCM extends condolences to the family, relatives, leaders, and members of CCM in Iringa Region following this sudden and brutal loss,” the statement said.
