Candidate vows economic boost for youths, women

COAST REGION: CCM’s Parliamentary candidate for Kibaha Rural Constituency in the Coast Region, Mr Hamoud Jumaa, has urged residents to vote for the Party’s candidates to continue benefitting from the development projects.

Mr Jumaa made the remarks late last week while addressing a campaign rally at Kilangalanga Ward in the Kibaha District Council.

He said that over the past five years, residents had witnessed major projects implemented by the Government in line with the Party’s manifesto, adding that voters had every reason to maintain CCM leadership in the forthcoming General Election.

“Our government has built secondary schools, primary schools, dispensaries, a district hospital and roads within our constituency. The Party’s policies have also facilitated investment activities, leading to the establishment of several industries, particularly in Kwala and Zegereni industrial areas. Many of our youths have secured employment there and are now earning stable incomes. These are among the major achievements we have recorded in the last five years,” he said.

Mr Jumaa cautioned residents against individuals seeking to disrupt the peace and unity that the country continues to enjoy as it heads towards the October 29 General Election.

“We must protect the peace we have with all our hearts. It is through peace that we can work, earn income and live in harmony. Let us remain united and build our nation for our own benefit and for the future of our children,” he said.

He pledged to prioritise youth and women’s empowerment if elected, saying he would ensure they access loans and resources to establish and develop their own economic projects.

“I will ensure that youths and women can access loans from the Council and other sources to start and expand their businesses,” he assured.

On her part, CCM candidate for the Kilangalanga Ward Council seat, Ms Mwajuma Denge, said that in the last five years, the ward had received a total of 1.5bn/-, which was channelled into various development initiatives.

“You are all aware that with this funding, we have constructed classrooms in all schools, built a dispensary in Disunyara Village and completed a Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) building, among other projects. If you grant us another leadership term, we will continue implementing development projects that meet your priorities,” she said.
