CAF unveils CHAN 2024 roadmap
THE Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the qualification roadmap for the 2024 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The qualifiers for the 2024 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) will kick off with the first round from October 25-27, 2024, and continue from November 1-13, 2024.
The second round of qualifiers is scheduled for December 20-22 and December 27-29, 2024.
The qualification slots have been allocated as follows: each of the WAFU A, WAFU B, UNAF, UNIFFAC and COSAFA zones will have three qualifying teams.
The CECAFA zone, which includes the three host countries, will receive an additional slot, boosting the total number of qualifying teams to 19.
In addition to their automatic qualification as hosts, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will participate in the qualifiers, with the team achieving the best results in the CECAFA qualifiers also advancing to the final tournament.
The finals are scheduled to take place from February 1 to 28, 2025, across East African nations Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
