CAIRO, EGYPT: Tanzania envoys in CAF Champions League (CAF CL) Young Africans and Azam will play Vital’O (Burundi) and APR (Rwanda) in the first preliminary round respectively.
A CAF draw held in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday has paired all teams that will feature in the CAF interclub games next season.
Yanga will begin their journey away in Burundi with the first leg match set between August 16th and 18th before hosting the return leg clash in Dar es Salaam slated between August 23rd and 25th.
The winning team between Yanga against Vital’O will face the winner of SC Villa Jogoo (Uganda) versus Commercial Bank in the second preliminary round.
For Azam, they will launch their campaign at home by hosting APR between August 16th and 18th before travelling to Rwanda for the reverse leg encounter to be played between August 23rd and 25th.
Overall winners after the two legged fixtures will proceed to the next round and will play against either JKU (Zanzibar) or Pyramids FC (Egypt) for another home and away matches before making it to the group stage.
In CAF Confederation Cup, envoys Simba will wait to play against the winner between Uhamiaji FC (Zanzibar) who will rock horns against the Federation Cup winners of Libya.
The winning side in the second preliminary round will automatically step into the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
Other CAF CC representatives Coastal Union will kick off their campaign away by facing AS Bravo of Angola before hosting them in the country.
The overall winner will book a ticket to face FC Lupopo of DR Congo and here, the best winner after the two legged assignments will reach in the group stage.
