Board works on Simba’s move to Zanzibar

DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has confirmed that it is considering Simba’s request to use the New Amaan Sports Complex in Zanzibar for their home matches.
The Board’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) confirmed on Tuesday that they have received an official request from the Dar es Salaam-based club.
“It is true, we have received a letter from them [Simba SC] requesting to use the New Amaan Sports Complex in the Isles for their games.
“There are certain regulations we are considering before making the final decision, and as TPLB, one of our responsibilities is to work for the interests of clubs,” said Mr. Kasongo.
The Reds have been compelled to search for an alternative venue following the suspension of Benjamin Mkapa and Uhuru stadiums, respectively.
The government announced the suspension of the two iconic venues in the country citing renovations.
