Board suspends stadium following broadcaster’s complaints
MOROGORO: The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has suspended Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro from hosting league matches.
A statement released through the board’s Instagram page on Saturday indicates that the decision has been reached following complaints from official television broadcasters Azam TV.
It says Azam TV complained to the board about production problems they face as a result of poor infrastructures at the venue.
“Simba who were using Jamhuri Stadium for their home matches were involved in the discussions to suspend the venue and instead, they will use Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam for their home duels,” reads part of the statement.
It further says Jamhuri Stadium will continue to be used for other competitions like Championship League and First League.
