Biteko says voting is life investment for citizens

GEITA: CCM parliamentary candidate for Bukombe Constituency, Mr Doto Biteko has called on voters to actively participate in the upcoming October 29 General Election, to elect leaders capable of delivering the development they desire.
Dr Biteko made the remarks over the weekend, during a campaign meeting held in Lyambamgongo Ward, Bukombe District, Geita Region, as part of the ongoing presidential, parliamentary and councillor election campaigns.
“Elections are an investment in life. Voting and choosing leaders gives you the legitimacy to demand development from those you elect. I often wonder why some people neither vote nor attend development meetings but are the first to complain,” Dr Biteko said.
He urged the 4,600 registered voters in the ward to come out in large numbers to vote for CCM, so the party can bring meaningful development over the next five years.
Some of CCM’s planned initiatives for the ward include providing an ambulance and extending electricity to seven villages that currently lack access to power.

Dr Biteko also informed the community that under the leadership of Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, residents of Bukombe were granted permission to mine minerals in the Kigosi Forest Reserve, creating new income opportunities.
He said that Bukombe District previously lacked a bus terminal, a modern market and a council office building. However, thanks to Dr Samia’s efforts, funds have been allocated to implement these projects.
He urged voters to support her by casting their votes overwhelmingly on October 29th this year. Furthermore, Dr Biteko called on residents to remain united and avoid divisions for any reason, especially during the General Election.
Meanwhile, Lyambamgongo Ward councillor candidate, Boniface Shitobero, expressed gratitude to the government for providing substantial funds for the construction of roads, two health clinics, classrooms and laboratory equipment in secondary schools.
“There is a vocational school for which the government allocated funds to build classrooms and every village now has electricity,” said Shitobero.
He added that if CCM is given the mandate to govern for the next five years, it will implement new development projects including schools and hospitals.
