DAR ES SALAAM: EXIM Bank Tanzania plans to continue its growth by expanding its reach and impact both within Tanzania and beyond.
The bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jaffari Matundu, announced this in Dar es Salaam yesterday during an event marking the bank’s 27th anniversary.
“As we celebrate 27 years, our focus will be on expansion both within and outside our borders, striving to bring banking services closer to people and boost economic growth,” said Mr Matundu.
He reflected on the bank’s journey, describing it as a remarkable path of growth, innovation and unwavering commitment to customer service.
“Our bank is committed to sustaining its financial growth through a strategic emphasis on innovation, regional expansion, customer-centric services and operational efficiency,” he explained.
Mr Matundu emphasised that innovation has been a cornerstone of Exim Bank’s success.
“We will continue to innovate, finding new ways to serve our customers better and contribute to the development of the financial sector,” he added.

After 27 years, Exim Bank stands as one of the leading financial service providers in the region, with branches extending beyond Tanzania to the Union of Comoros, Djibouti and Uganda.
The recent recognition by the International Business Magazine Awards as the ‘Most Innovative Banking Brand’ further underscores the bank’s commitment to innovation.
In the previous year, Exim Bank achieved notable financial milestones, including a profit before tax of 91.5bn/-, Customer Deposits reaching 2.4tri/- and Total Assets surpassing 3tri/-.
These accomplishments highlight the dedication of the bank’s team and the trust its customers place in the institution.
