Azam offload four stars
DAR ES SALAAM: NBC Premier League side Azam yesterday released four players Ayoub Lyanga, Edward Manyama, Malickou Ndoye and Issa Ndala who will not be part of the team for the 2024/25 season.
Through the club’s verified Instagram page, the quadruple were wished all the best in their new football careers outside the Chamazi based outfits.
So far, Azam have extended farewell to five players including Captain Daniel Amoah who was the first player to be shown an exit door.
Azam alongside Young Africans will represent the country in the CAF Champions League (CAF CL) next season a status they earned after scooping the second place last season.

People are eager to see how the Ice-cream makers’ side will be able to withstand the CAF CL contest by at least storming in the group stage.
Meanwhile, Azam have already been re-united with their former player Adam Adam who recently signed a one-year deal to feature at the club from Mashujaa.
Also, they have brought in Colombian striker Jhonier Blanco who was the top goal scorer in the Colombia’s Categoria Primera B after scoring 13 goals with Fortaleza CEIF.
Speaking after inking the contract that will see him at Azam until 2028, he said he is ready to help his new team achieve great things through winning titles.
“I will do my best here… I call upon full cooperation from my teammates and management,” Blanco briefly said.
Last season, Azam collected 69 points from 30 matches which saw them secure the second place on the log.
