AU staff to start receiving treatment at MOI

DAR ES SALAAM: DELEGATIONS from the African Union (AU) will now begin receiving treatment at the Muhimbili Orthopedic and Neurological Institute (MOI) after being impressed by the quality of modern services provided.

The delegates made a special visit to inspect the state of provision of specialist services for bones, spine, and nerves, as a preliminary step before the AU staff began receiving treatment at the MOI Institute.

The delegates visited the radiology units, the International Patients Clinic, and the ‘Private’ wards.

After inspecting the services and facilities provided at the institution, Dr. Adam Issa, the AU Director of Medicine and Health Affairs, said they were impressed by the quality of modern services provided by the MOI.

For his part, MOI Acting Executive Director Dr. Anthony Assey said the arrival of the delegates is a great honor for the institution and Tanzania in general.

And the Head of the AU Medical Services Division, Dr. John Rwegash,a said the program is part of the African Union’s efforts to establish a health sector within the continent, using facilities of international quality.

“We want African citizens to receive quality services without having to go outside our continent. MOI is a good example of this success,” said Dr. Rwegasha

MOI has been recognized as one of the best medical centers in Africa, providing specialized services for bones, brain, spine, accidents, nerves, and trauma diseases for patients with various diseases.
