Arusha braces  for President Samia’s tour

ARUSHA: PRESIDENT of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, begins a two-day working visit to Arusha Region from tomorrow, November 21 to 22, 2025.

During the visit, President Samia will be the Chief Guest at the commissioning ceremony of officers of the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF), which will take place at the Monduli Military Academy.

Speaking to the media today, November 20, 2025, the Regional Commissioner of Arusha, CPA Amos Makalla, said the commissioning ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

He said  President Samia is scheduled to arrive in the region on Friday, November 21, 2025, through the Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA).

Makalla explained that the President’s visit will include an official reception on Friday, followed by the main commissioning ceremony the next day at the Monduli Academy. He added that all preparations are well underway to ensure the visit is successful.

“We will have Her Excellency the President in our Arusha Region for those two days. I take this opportunity to call upon citizens who will have the chance to turn out in large numbers to participate in welcoming President Samia at KIA,” said Makalla.

  1. This is awesome, like walking into a lion’s den. Arusha has many anti CCM sentiments and the recent riots post-election did not help. This is what I would call boldness, confidence and bravado. Kudos our prezzo, show them we are not intimidated and we love our peace.
