DODOMA: MEMBERS of the public have been urged to use the upcoming local government election to elect visionary leaders who will transform governance, boost economic growth and drive national progress.
By electing visionary leaders committed to good governance and development, voters can pave the way for improved service delivery, stronger economic growth and sustainable progress.
The local government elections take place tomorrow, with day declared a public holiday to give all citizens an opportunity to cast their votes.

“This election serves as a foundation for accountability and democracy, empowering individuals to directly influence the quality of leadership that will guide local and national advancement,” stated Dr Hildebrand Shayo, an economist and investment banker in an interview on Monday.
He emphasised that choosing leaders committed to good governance and community development is key to enabling local governments to drive economic growth, foster personal advancement and contribute to the nation’s overall progress.
Dr Shayo highlighted that, economically, elections are a vital mechanism for selecting democratic leaders who will steer the nation and enhance citizens’ livelihoods within their mandate period.
