ALAF advances national health initiative

DAR ES SALAAM: ALAF Limited has launched a two-day health initiative supporting the national agenda by promoting disease prevention and early screening, which is essential for enhancing public health outcomes, reducing the burden of disease and advancing sustainable national development.

The company’s External Affairs Manager, Ms Hawa Bayumi, stated on Wednesday in Dar es Salaam during the employee health screening that the initiative reflects ALAF’s commitment to employee wellness and corporate social responsibility.

“This goes beyond the workplace it’s our contribution to building a healthier, more informed population,” she said.

The programme focuses on breast cancer, prostate cancer and Hepatitis B awareness and vaccination, supporting national efforts to combat non-communicable diseases and improve public health.

With the industrial sector heavily dependent on manpower, the initiative also serves as a model for how large employers can contribute to national development through workforce health. Ms Bayumi emphasised that this is not a one-time effort, but part of a longterm strategy.

“We plan to make health sensitisation a continuous effort. A healthy workforce is key not only to productivity but to national progress,” she added.
