DAR ES SALAAM: Airtel Tanzania has said that the purpose of running campaigns that offer prizes to winners is that its to empower Tanzanians to achieve their dreams while supporting government efforts to uplift the nation.
Airtel’s Public Relations and Communications Manager, Mr. Jackson Mmbando, made the remarks on Monday in Dar es Salaam during the handover ceremony of a motorcycle to a winner of the “Upige Mwingi” promotion, which spanned three months.
Mr. Mmbando highlighted that, in addition to the motorcycle, the promotion also awarded mobile phone airtime and internet bundles.
“The conducive environment created by the government has stimulated online business activities, allowing individuals to generate income and improve their livelihoods,” he added.

On her part Airtel Money Manager Ms. Janeth Kwilasa, emphasized that these prize giveaways are part of Airtel’s commitment to giving back to the community.
“Our aim is to reinvest the benefits we receive back into the community,” she noted.
On his part Mr. Shabani Ramadhani, the grand prize winner, expressed his gratitude, stating that the motorcycle would help him achieve his business goals and increase his income.
The “Upige Mwingi” campaign, which lasted for three months, concluded today with the thrilling prize handover.
