Agricultural research institutes collaborate on seed production
ZANZIBAR: THE Zanzibar Agricultural Research Institute (ZARI) and its mainland counterpart, the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), are working closely together, particularly in the production of modern seeds, the House of Representatives was informed on Monday.
Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, Natural Resources and Livestock Shamata Shaame Khamis announced that the partnership between the two institutions focuses on producing high-quality, disease-resistant seeds.

The minister was responding to a question from Mwanakwerekwe Representative Ameir Abdalla Ameir, who inquired about the collaboration between the two institutes in addressing critical challenges facing the agricultural sector.
Minister Shamata emphasised that the historical collaboration involves the exchange of experts and expertise to tackle significant issues affecting farmers across the country.
