Elea Foundation, Nordic Impact fund support Tanzania’s Agritech firm

DAR ES SALAAM: AGRITECH Company MazaoHub has received a fresh round of investment from two prominent institutions—Elea Foundation and Nordic Impact Funds—aimed at strengthening digital agricultural extension services and creating a system similar to Uber for extension officers.
The investment has also enabled the launch of CropSupply.com, an online marketplace connecting farmers with buyers.
Speaking on the development, MazaoHub CEO, Geophrey Tenganamba, stated that the investment will empower farmers to access agricultural extension services more efficiently through digital platforms, while also enabling them to sell their produce transparently, profitably, and reliably, both locally and internationally.

According to Tenganamba, the investment has facilitated the launch of CropSupply.com, a platform that connects farmers, buyers, transporters, and produce traders. The platform provides accurate and real-time data on produce availability by country, region, and village. It also generates traceability reports, which are highly valued by international buyers, offering a transparent view of the entire value chain from farm to market.
“With support from the Ministry of Agriculture and as a success story of the BBT project, MazaoHub continues to attract investments from various stakeholders. This current funding is allowing us to open up farmers’ markets digitally via CropSupply.com,” said Tenganamba.
He added that the platform will enable Tanzanian farmers to export their products globally. Currently, CropSupply.com is operational in Tanzania, Kenya, and Zambia, countries that share close collaboration in agricultural development.
Tenganamba further explained that the system leverages comprehensive agricultural data gathered through MazaoHub’s Agricultural Clinics, allowing buyers to trace a product’s journey, from soil health and crop condition to harvest. This transparency gives buyers confidence in the safety and quality of the produce value chain.
To date, 3,710 farmers have participated in the pilot phase of CropSupply.com. Following the platform’s official launch, the company aims to reach over 370,000 farmers, promoting a safer, more transparent, and competitive agricultural trade environment across Africa.

MazaoHub envisions a self-sustaining Africa that feeds its people through knowledge and technology. Earlier this year, the company was awarded Best Agritech Company in Africa at the Africa Tech Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya, in recognition of its innovative Agricultural Clinic services.
The Agricultural Clinics and CropSupply.com are pivotal tools in connecting rural farmers to modern extension services and both national and international markets. These clinics utilize data from soil health and plant condition to help farmers increase productivity and reduce production costs. They serve farmers at all levels, from smallholders to medium and large-scale producers.
Overall, MazaoHub continues to drive transformation in African agriculture by harnessing technology and real-time data from the field, an essential step toward revolutionizing agribusiness on the continent.
