TARURA scoops prestigious ‘People-Centered Design Approach’ award

DAR ES SALAAM: The Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) has scooped a prestigious award recognizing the institution for adopting a “People-Centered Design Approach” in the planning and execution of road projects.

This participatory approach ensures that road designs incorporate the ideas, suggestions, and specific needs of the communities that will be served by the roads once constructed—particularly in areas of social activity such as schools, markets, and health services (hospitals, health centers, dispensaries, and clinics).

The special award was presented by the international organization FIA Foundation, in collaboration with AMEND, during the Africa Regional Forum held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
