Tanzania lures investments, business from Kosovo

PRISHTINA, KOSOVO: TANZANIA’S Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has urged investors and business leaders in Kosovo to seize emerging investment opportunities in Tanzania’s fast-growing sectors.
The Minister extended the invitation during a high-level meeting with the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, held in Prishtina, where Ambassador Kombo explained various investment opportunities in Tanzania’s strategic sectors, including agriculture, mining, technology, grain storage, and tourism.
The meeting brought together representatives from key sectors such as industrial production, trade, energy, agriculture, technology, and mining.
Amb Kombo said Tanzania remains a safe and attractive investment destination, underpinned by political stability, a growing economy, and ongoing reforms aimed at improving the business environment.

He said Tanzania is offering major opportunities in agriculture, particularly in crops like avocados, pineapples, cashew nuts, tea, and coffee, supported by fertility soil.
He also emphasized the country’s mineral wealth, inviting investors to engage in processing and value addition, especially for rare minerals such as Tanzanite, which is unique to Tanzania.
On tourism, the Minister highlighted the country’s ambitious target of attracting 5 million tourists by the end of 2025, noting the urgent need for investment in tourist accommodation, transport services, and hospitality infrastructure.
Amb Kombo also outlined ongoing improvements to Tanzania’s investment landscape, including enhanced infrastructure and regulatory reforms.
He said the country’s Foreign Policy on Economic Diplomacy has played a pivotal role in boosting investor confidence and promoting cross-border partnerships.
In response, the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Mr. Arian Zeka, applauded Tanzania’s visit and reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to encouraging Kosovo’s private sector to explore opportunities in Tanzania.
He pledged increased collaboration aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
Amb Kombo is in Kosovo to participate in the Third International Conference on Women, Peace and Security, held from June 2–3, 2025.
