EAD Jariwalla wins Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Dar Series title

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Dar es Salaam Series, held at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) over the weekend, concluded with a strong display of skill and sportsmanship, as Murtaza Jariwalla was crowned the overall winner.

Jariwalla led the field with an impressive 38 points, earning him the prestigious Gold Trophy, a Model Aircraft and a round-trip ticket to Turkey, courtesy of Turkish Airlines.

The battle for the podium was closely contested, with Om Joshi and Arshid Esmail each finishing with 36 points.

However, Joshi secured second place on countback, while Esmail settled for third. Both were awarded trophies Silver and Bronze trophies, respectively—along with model aircraft.

In the Gross category, Son Vengetsamy delivered a solid round, scoring 34 points to take home the trophy and a model aircraft.

The tournament also featured special contests, including Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin challenges. Jan Broodryk won the Longest Drive (Men) award, while Yvonne Ondari claimed the Ladies’ Longest Drive prize.

Abdallah Singano secured the Nearest to the Pin (men) title. According to DGC Competition Secretary Abid Omari, there was no winner in the Ladies’ category.

The Dar es Salaam leg is part of the global Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup series, a prestigious amateur tournament that connects players from across the world, promoting excellence and international camaraderie through the sport of golf.
