CCM’s Dr Nchimbi attends Songambele’s funeral in Songea

SONGEA: THE Secretary General of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, who arrived today, June 2, 2025 at Songea Airport in Ruvuma Region, attended the funeral of veteran politician and freedom fighter, Alhaj Mzee Mustafa Mohamed Songambele.

Upon arrival, Dr. Nchimbi was received by party and government leaders led by the Regional Commissioner, Colonel Ahmed Abbas Ahmed, and the CCM Regional Secretary, Mohamed Ali Khalfan.

Mzee Songambele, one of the founding members of the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) and later CCM, passed away in Dar es Salaam during the night of June 1, 2025. His burial took place later today in Songea.

The funeral marks a moment of national respect for the historic leader whose contributions to the struggle for independence and the building of the nation remain a lasting legacy for the people of Tanzania.
