Zanzibar boosts Simba’s morale ahead of RS Berkane clash
ZANZIBAR: PRESIDENT of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has announced that the Amaan Stadium will be made available free of charge for the CAF Confederation Cup final between Simba and RS Berkane, scheduled to take place this Sunday on the Isles.
The announcement was made in an official statement released on Thursday by the Deputy Director of Presidential Communications at Zanzibar State House, Raqey Mohamed.
According to the statement, President Mwinyi’s gesture is a show of support for Simba SC ahead of what is being described as a historic continental showdown.
According to the statement, the move aims to boost the morale of the team and to express the President’s commitment to the development of sports in the country.
In addition to offering the stadium for free, President Mwinyi has pledged to cover all essential logistical and operational costs associated with hosting the match.
This includes measures to ensure the venue meets international standards, as the event is expected to attract thousands of fans and key figures from both within Tanzania and abroad.

Highlighting the significance of the match for the nation, President Mwinyi also confirmed that he will personally attend the game, joining Tanzanians in showing support for Simba as the team seeks a historic victory.
The highly anticipated final is set to kick off at 4:00 PM local time, with Simba SC hoping to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg and secure a memorable win and attain the title on home soil.
To drum up support, the club launched a campaign today across Zanzibar, encouraging fans to purchase match tickets and fill the stadium in solidarity with the team.
Interest has already surged, with Platinum-tier tickets sold out just two days ahead of the fixture.
The Simba squad arrived in Zanzibar on Wednesday to begin final preparations for the decisive encounter, which could mark a major milestone in the club’s continental journey.
