Tanzania inks 127bn/- to fund projects in Kagera

BUKOBA: THE Tanzanian government has disbursed 126.6bn/- for the implementation of various development projects in Bukoba Rural Constituency, a move that the area’s Member of Parliament, Jason Rweikiza, has commended, expressing his gratitude for the government’s strong commitment to uplifting citizens’ livelihoods.
Speaking to thousands of Kagera Region residents who had gathered to welcome the CCM National Executive Committee (NEC) Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training, Amos Makalla, Rweikiza said the ongoing projects have significantly benefited the people, especially those from low-income backgrounds.
“Today, almost every village has access to electricity, and the government is continuing with its efforts to extend the service to smaller settlements. New health centers have been built, classrooms are mushrooming rapidly, and access to clean water has greatly improved,” Rweikiza said enthusiastically.

He further expressed his delight with the government’s decision to begin construction of the Kyenyabasa and Kalebe bridges, which had long been a major challenge for the local community, particularly during the rainy season. He noted that once completed, the bridges will greatly ease transport difficulties and improve both social and economic activities.
Rweikiza emphasized that he is now witnessing a rapid pace in the implementation of large-scale projects that were once considered unfeasible. He urged the people of Bukoba Rural to continue placing their trust in the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), which has proven its ability to bring about real and lasting development for both current and future generations.
During the visit, CCM’s Secretary for Ideology and Publicity, Amos Makalla, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the residents through strategic development initiatives.
