Simba: We don’t back down
MOROCCO: AFTER a 2-0 first-leg defeat to Morocco’s RS Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup final, Simba SC is far from waving the white flag as Head coach Fadlu Davids and club spokesperson Ahmed Ally have ignited belief in a dramatic turnaround, with bold confidence and fiery symbols fuelling their quest for continental glory.
Coach Davids, pragmatic yet optimistic, has vowed a tactical revamp for the second leg this Sunday on May 25 at Zanzibar’s New Amaan Complex.
He admits the pressure of the away leg rattled his young squad early on but expects a more composed , confident display at home.
While the venue remains Zanzibar, Davids made it clear his preferred battlefield is the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam which is Simba’s true fortress with 60,000 roaring fans.
“We’ll play anywhere and we’re ready to fight even in Morocco if needed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Ally brought the fire, turning a post-match analysis into a war cry. Dismissing the first-leg loss as a temporary setback, Ally declared that Berkane’s two goals would be ‘vomited’ in Tanzania.
With theatrical flair, he likened their advantage to melting snow on Mount Kilimanjaro visibly striking, but fleeting under pressure.
Reflecting on the slow start in Morocco, Ally praised the squad’s secondhalf response, attributing the turnaround to an on-field “conference” among players likened to the Berlin Conference of 1884, where decisive changes were made.
From that point on, he said, Simba showed their true colours, organised, relentless and threatening. With the second leg looming, Simba’s mission is clear: Overturn the deficit, reclaim pride and hoist the trophy.
The club’s unshaken rallying cry, Tunabeba (We are taking it), has now been supercharged with a defiant new slogan: Watazitapika (They will vomit the goals).
