U-20 PL reaches thrilling quarter-final stage

DAR ES SALAAM: THE excitement is reaching fever pitch as the Tanzania Under-20 Premier League heads into its knockout phase, with the highly anticipated quarter-finals set to kick off from May 19 to May 29 at the iconic Azam Complex Stadium in Chamazi, Dar es Salaam.

Speaking to the media, Clifford Ndimbo – the Media and Communications Officer of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), officially announced the completion of the group stage and confirmed that the tournament is now entering the decisive quarterfinal round.

“We have completed the group stages and are now preparing for the quarterfinals,” said Ndimbo.

“The draw for the quarterfinal matchups is scheduled for Friday, giving each team a clear path as they gear up to battle for a place in the semifinals and ultimately the final.”

According to Ndimbo, the competition format will see the top two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals, where they will vie for spots in the semifinals. The two winners of the semifinals will then clash in the grand finale to crown the national U-20 champions.

The eight standout teams that have earned their spot in the quarterfinals are Azam FC, Kagera Sugar, Dodoma Jiji, Kengold, Simba SC, Fountain Gate Academy, Tanzania Prisons and Yanga SC.

Each of these teams brings a unique blend of youth, energy and tactical prowess to the field, promising football fans a series of electrifying matches.

The U-20 Premier League is more than just a tournament as it’s a launchpad for Tanzania’s next generation of football stars. With scouts, coaches and club executives expected to flock to the Azam Complex, this stage offers young talents a golden opportunity to shine on a national platform.
