Flying return for Maxime at Kagera Camp

KAGERA Sugar coach Mecky Mexime has lauded his predecessor Francis Baraza for creating a solid foundation in the squad while KMC trainer Thierry Hitimana blamed individual mistakes for their 1-0 defeat.

The two sides battled for maximum points at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza on Tuesday with Kagera Sugar claiming all three points after the tense 90 minutes of play.

It was a good start for Mexime upon his return at the club after steering to help the team grab vital points thereby restoring winning confidence among his charges. “To be honest, I have to thank Baraza for the good work he has done at this club because I have found players already in good shape… and so far, I have just made minor adjustments.

“He did a commendable job here otherwise things could have been a bit hard for me if he had left the team in bad shape but so far, I am pleased with the works he did,” he said.

He also revealed that in their upcoming fixture, they are searching to claim another win in order to build a strong confidence to the players and ascend the league ladders.

On his part, Hitimana for KMC reiterated that blunders committed by individual players cost the team dearly.

He then pointed out that they have to work on the shortfalls in order to do better in their next match. In another match on Tuesday, Polisi Tanzania were held to a 1-1 draw by Dodoma Jiji with the latter equalising in the dying minutes to salvage a point.
