President Mwinyi to Officiate National Human Resources Conference in Zanzibar

ZANZIBAR: THE President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, is set to officiate the Fourth National Human Resources and Administration Conference, organized by the Tanzania Human Resources and Administration Professionals Association (THRAPA).

The high-level conference, scheduled to take place from May 20 to 22, 2025, in Zanzibar, will bring together human resource professionals, policymakers, and administrative experts from across the country to discuss strategies for improving workplace quality and adapting to technological innovations particularly artificial intelligence.

Speaking to journalists on Monday in Dar es Salaam, THRAPA Chairperson Christopher Mwansasu said the conference aims to foster dialogue on emerging trends and challenges within the human resources sector, especially in an era defined by rapid digital transformation.

“This year’s conference will not only address issues of workplace excellence but will also delve into how technological changes especially artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of work,” Mwansasu said.

He added that the event will also mark the global commemoration of World Human Resources Day, offering participants a chance to exchange professional insights, network, and explore best practices in talent development, organizational leadership, and policy formulation.

THRAPA Secretary General Denis Derua emphasized that among the critical topics on the agenda is employee performance.

On his part, THRAPA Secretary General Denis Derua highlighted performance capacity as one of the major challenges facing employers.

“We’ll use the forum to discuss practical strategies to address performance gaps in the workforce,” he said.

He also added:  “This platform will allow us to explore solutions to enhance workforce capabilities.”

Themed “The Future Workforce Powered by Artificial Intelligence,” the conference will feature keynote speeches, expert panels, and interactive sessions focusing on AI integration, workforce planning, leadership development, and the role of HR in shaping future-ready institutions.
