Bush-lawyers pose big challenge to Mama Samia Legal Aid campaign in Kagera Region    

KAGERA: IBWELA Ward residents in Bukoba District Council, Kagera Region, are expecting the Mama Samia Legal Aid Campaign to tackle, among others, fight against bush-lawyers who used to fuel conflicts in the community.

Normally, they used to lobby into especially court sessions for sometimes, and then after act as actual advocates, only to spoil members of the community, a situation that triggers conflicts following their inability to practice and provide justice.

And people trust them because they need legal assistance, the residents, Jovin Rutaihwa, has said during the ongoing Mama Samia Legal Aid campaign.

“But today, we have professionals to overcome this challenge. Worth enough, we are glad to hear that the legal aid is endless even after the campaign is over,” he said.

At the same time, the residents have expressed their satisfaction with the campaign, which has provided instant solutions to problems, especially land conflicts.
