TWCC awards best performing women entrepreneurs

DAR ES SALAAM: THE  Tanzania  Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) has awarded outstanding groups of women entrepreneurs during the 5th Edition of Tanzania Women Industrial Awards held in Dar es Salaam early today.

TWCC awarded the successful businesswomen for driving industrial and economic growth in Tanzania.

The award recipients included Bramo Tech Engineering Company for their innovation in the clean cooking energy category, Coty Company Limited as the winner of E- E-commerce Brand of the Year, and Dattieko Investment Limited, who won the Best Farmer of the Year category.

 The award for excellence in health service went to Total Med Lab Solution Ltd.

Award for Hospitality and Tourism went to -H& A Holiday Limited, similar to Delnet Corporate Event Management Company of the year.

On Education Service Provider, GFPN Investment Limited won the category, while Export Award went to Chimi Group Company Limited.

The Environmental Conservation Award went to Libe Green Innovation Company Limited as the  Beauty Company of the Year was Mrembo Naturals Limited.

Mimmah Crochet Company won the Artisan Excellence Award, and Sindano Uzi Design claimed the best designer award.

Best Sector Innovation Award went to Jamii Afya Plus Limited, while the Small Enterprises of the Year Award went  Chabapopo Food Product.

Upeo Product of Zanzibar excelled in Agri Food Business.

During the award ceremony, women engaged in business were advised to ensure that at least 70 percent of the profits generated from their businesses are reinvested to foster growth.

Speaking during the awards gala, the President of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) Angelina Ngalula, pointed out that one of the key reasons many women fail in business is their tendency to manage multiple businesses at once.

“Businesses do not grow because some people open many ventures simultaneously, making it difficult to properly manage them. Eventually, you lose focus because you are spending money without a clear plan,” she explained.

The event was graced by the Minister for Trade and Industry, Selemani Jafo, who  commended the TWCC for recognizing the significant efforts made by women in business, highlighting that these initiatives align with President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s ongoing investment in the sector.

 “We will continue to collaborate with the private sector to make Tanzania an industrialized nation,” he added.
