Bwiru students, teachers applaud govt support

MWANZA: STUDENTS and teachers of Bwiru Girls’ Secondary School in Ilemela Municipality in Mwanza Region, have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for the significant investment made in their school, including the construction of new dormitories and classrooms.

The students conveyed their appreciation yesterday as they highlighted the achievements and substantial investments made by the government to improve the education sector in the country.

For her part, a form six student Ms Rahma Yahya, thanked President Samia for addressing various challenges that the school were facing.

She said, apart from solving their challenges, the President, through the Ministry of Education, introduced a new PMC combination (Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science) which would equip students with academic skills in science and technology after completing their studies.

“Our country needs more technology experts to advance our technological sector. This new combination will encourage more students to pursue science subjects in line with global changes”, she said.

She also expressed gratitude to the President for employing new teachers at the school and for constructing dormitories and classrooms, which have helped enhance efficiency in their studies.

Another Form Six student, Ms Elizabeth John, also thanked President Samia for building classrooms and dormitories.

“We faced many challenges, including overcrowding in classrooms and dormitories. Thank you very much, President Samia, for helping us with infrastructure development”, she said.

She urged the government to provide more supplementary and core textbooks in the school library to enable students study effectively and achieve their goals.
