Yanga face Kagera hurdle
DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Head Coach, Sead Ramović is confi dent ahead of their Premier League match against Kagera Sugar at KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam today.
Ramović noted that their today’s encounter will be tough.
He identified Kagera Sugar as a disciplined side with a solid defence.
Ramović pointed out that every opportunity will be crucial, as breaking through their defence will be no easy task. Despite the tough test, Ramović expressed confidence that his team is able and ready to secure maxi mum points.
“We know this will be a tough match, so we have to play at our best. We respect Kagera Sugar because they are a disciplined team, and we expect them to be de fensively solid. That means we must take advantage of the chances we create,” said Ramović.
He further added: “Our main goal is to collect three points. We focus on our own matches and have the responsibility to win every game to reclaim the top spot. We are aware of Kagera Sugar’s quality, so we must play at our highest level.”
To his part, Kagera Sugar Head Coach, Melis Medo admitted that his side has prepared intensively, given Yan ga’s strong attacking force. “We have trained very hard because we know Yanga have dangerous attacking players.
They have a very strong offensive unit, so we have to be well-prepared both physically and mentally.

This match is very important for us because we need a win to improve our position in the league standings,” Medo stated. Yanga head into today’s fixture while in second place in the Tanzania Mainland Pre mier League standings, with 39 points from 15 matches, having won 13 and lost twice.
Their last league outing saw them dominate Fountain Gate with a 5-0 victory.
On the other hand, Kag era Sugar sit on the 15th place with 11 points from 15 matches, having won twice, drawn five and lost eight. In their most recent match, they suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat against Simba.
Simba remain at the top of the table with 40 points, closely followed by Yanga with 39.
Azam are in third place with 36 points, while Singida Black Stars occupy fourth place with 33 points. At the bottom of the table, KenGold remain in last place (16th) with six points, followed by Kagera Sugar in 15th with 11 points and Pamba Jiji in 14th with 12 points.
After today’s match, Yanga will return to action on February 7th at the KMC Complex against KenGold. Meanwhile, Kagera Sugar will face Singida Black Stars on the same date as they con tinue their battle for survival in the league.
