Chuwini Market project thrills Makalla

DAR ES SALAAM: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Ideology, Publicity and Training Secretary, Mr Amos Makalla, has said that the modern Chuwini Market will bring significant economic transformation to the people of Zanzibar.
He made the remark yesterday during his visit to inspect the strategic project as part of his tour of six regions in Zanzibar. The Chuwini Market is set to exceed the size of Dar es Salaam’s Kariakoo Market, with the capacity to accommodate over 4,000 traders simultaneously, compared to Kariakoo’s capacity of 3,000 to 3,500 traders.
Makalla commended the innovative design of the market, which integrates a bus terminal, stressing its potential to greatly enhance commercial activity.

He praised Presidents Samia Suluhu Hassan and Dr Hussein Mwinyi for their collaborative efforts in driving development.
“I have witnessed this impressive modern market firsthand, which further reinforces why CCM extraordinary meeting endorsed Dr Samia and Dr Mwinyi as presidential candidates for this year’s General Election.” Makalla added, “A remarkable transformation has taken place here, from a rice paddy to a modern market.
Those who doubted should come and see the completed work—seeing is believing.
