Z’bar 2nd VP appreciates TIRA support for Mapinduzi celebrations

ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR Second VicePresident (2VP) Hemed Suleiman Abdulla has commended the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) for recognising the importance of contributing to the 61st anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution.
He made the remarks at his office at Vuga, Stone Town during a meeting with TIRA leaders who visited to present a dummy cheque worth 321m/- as part of their pledge to support the Revolution celebrations climaxing on January 12, this year at the Gombani Stadium.
Mr Abdulla said during the meeting that the funds provided by TIRA will significantly contribute to the success of the revolution celebrations, expressing gratitude to public and private companies for continuing to support the efforts of national leaders in driving development on both sides of the Union.
He assured TIRA that the government will continue to work with public and private institutions in the country by strengthening partnership (PPP) in investment issues and ensure local companies receive preference in government projects to foster sustainable national development.
“I invite insurance companies to participate in the revolution celebrations, that involve the inauguration of various development projects and the laying of foundation stones,” said the 2VP as he encouraged them to use the celebrations as a platform to promote their services.
While presenting the dummy cheque, TIRA Zanzibar Deputy Commissioner, Ms Khadija Issa Saidi, expressed the authority’s satisfaction in fulfilling their promise to contribute to the revolution celebrations.

She reaffirmed TIRA’s commitment to collaborating with the Zanzibar government in supporting economic and social development initiatives.
Ms Khadija thanked both the Union and Zanzibar governments for their continued cooperation with TIRA, which motivates the authority to work diligently and patriotically to provide quality services to the public.
On his part, Mr Nelson Mnzava, who represented the Chairman of the Association of Tanzanian Insurance Companies and serving as the Director of CRDB Insurance, praised TIRA’s leadership for fulfilling their commitment to the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
He promised that the tradition of contributing and participating in the revolution celebrations will continue annually, urging the governments to assist in encouraging public institutions, private entities, and various companies to adopt the practice of obtaining insurance to safeguard their businesses and assets.
