President Samia Fills Key Positions in Police Force

ZANZIBAR: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has implemented significant changes in the Tanzania Police Force, promoting and appointing new commissioners to critical positions.

A statement issued early Monday by the Director of Presidential Communications, Ms. Sharifa Nyanga, revealed that Chief Secretary Ambassador Dr. Moses Kusikula announced the promotions and appointments.

President Samia promoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kombo Khamis Kombo to Commissioner of Police (CP).

Following his promotion, the Head of State appointed CP Kombo as the new Police Commissioner for Zanzibar.

He succeeds CP Hamad Khamis Hamad, who was recently appointed ambassador, with his posting to be announced at a later date.

In another noteworthy development, President Samia promoted DCP Tatu Rashid Jumbe to Commissioner of Police and appointed her as the Commissioner for Administration and Human Resources Management in the Police Force.
